The purpose is to ensure the "health" of the Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition, SCADA system. The position provides the technical leadership for approved changes. The individual will take an engineered approach to all project/change phases (discovery, data gathering, phase:in, validation and testing, and release).
Owner of Electrical wiring diagrams, Ladder logic, PLC applications, Human machine interfaces, Programming parameters for field devices (Variable frequency drives, HIM's, Level transmitters, Scales, Flow meters, Pressure transducers/switches, Temperature transducers/switches, etc.)
Train Maintenance Associates on repair of SCADA system devices
Ensure revision control of Ladder Logic, Device level networks, Ethernet network, and Human machine interfaces
Develop specifications for larger scales projects
Direct the work activities of outside contractors, and/or maintenance associates in the installation of instrumentation, PLC based control systems, and PC based operator interfaces
Provide project planning and execution for large or medium controls projects
Context and Scope
The job is performed both in an office environment and factory floor. Projects will be both independent and working with a team. An intimate knowledge of the process and instrumentation will be fundamental for success. Projects will be generated from issues discovered on the production floor and through capital project processes.
1. Education and Professional Qualification
A two:year technical degree is preferred however, in lieu of a technical degree a minimum of 6+ years work experience will be considered where an intimate knowledge of SCADA systems can be demonstrated.
