**Role Purpose:**
The Regional Workforce Management Coach is responsible for overseeing regional-level workforce management functions. With a permanent position on the Regional-level Workforce Steering Committee, this person is responsible for preparing for and running Steering Committee report out functions for Workforce related initiatives. These include generating reports, providing status updates, results reporting and other communication/planning activities for workforce management related functions.
Additionally, the Workforce Management Coach is responsible for coaching and mentoring operational leaders to assist in moving labor performance closer to established budgeted objectives and performance levels. This role works with leaders through facilitating both internal and external leading practices, investigating inefficiencies, variance and root cause analysis, and introducing new techniques and approaches to reduce waste, improve productivity and facilitate cost savings with implantation support. The coach will assist by introducing new ideas, validating of existing process changes, coordination with peers and assisting directors/managers in creating a process of staff flexing based on the daily (and sometimes hourly) fluctuations in workload to ensure that actions taken will have the result of bringing a department to budgeted levels while maintaining a quality of care environment.
The Workforce Management Coach will be available to mentor and consult with individual regional supervisors, managers and directors who may need assistance and guidance in developing workforce standards and determining what changes are needed to reach those workforce standards. Oversees and directs workforce CQI management projects and provides industry research, expertise, internal benchmarking, operational feasibility analysis. Designs and oversees training programs for all levels of supervisory and management staff and facility based specialists on workforce management.
Work entails a high degree of autonomy and influence on system initiatives. Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient, employee and company data.
**Responsibilities:**
* Provide ongoing workforce management-related expertise and support to regional leadership and management at each facility within the region
* Leads region-level Workforce Management Steering committees
* Sets agendas
* Oversees reporting from SSM productivity system utilized by regional facilities as well as VisionWare to assist management in monitoring operational and financial performance and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
* Works with other regional and entity-level Workforce Management roles and CQI Facilitators for various functions, including but not limited to overseeing the following:
* Develop and maintains productivity standards
* Productivity management and variance reporting
* Engagement process including Watch List, Action Planning, and migration strategies
* Position Control process and exceptions needing approval
* Roll-up reporting from facilities within region
* Providing support resources to assist with coaching and project support
* Identification of needs/prioritization of projects and support needed
* Identifies system and regional leading practices and/or opportunities for cross-departmental and/or intra-regional projects that could improve work flow, eliminate waste, reduce costs, etc.
* Provides consultative, technical and decision-making support to management and operational leaders regarding financial and operational improvement and program development.
* Assists departmental leadership by identifying and conducting appropriate CQI projects (either departmental or cross-departmental) that will reduce use of labor through implementation of better practices and a reduction of waste in the process.
* Oversees workforce-related regional projects and is responsible for workforce reporting and tracking actions related to improvements that have been recommended and approved.
* Presents and communicates in a professional and effective manner.
* Performs workforce management regular reporting and ad hoc requests for information to region-level leadership and regional leadership as needed.
* Provides education on all workforce related matters to leadership and director/manager including productivity training for departmental
* Works collaboratively with regional Nursing, Human Resources and local Finance staff in analyzing productivity management opportunities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
## Qualifications
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* Bachelor s degree from a recognized college or university in Healthcare Administration, Business or Nursing or a closely related field
* 5 years of business management experience with strong operational background performing or managing productivity, finance and/or workforce management projects to include experience in a healthcare environment
* Strong computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheet programs
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Healthcare Administration
* Nurse manager experience
* Experience with database and decision support
