Support Technician Trainee Midwest Computech, a regional Information Technology business is looking for an energetic team player, detail oriented Support Technician Trainee who is enthusiastic about working for Midwest Computech. The Support Technician Trainee is responsible for knowledge of computers, software, routers, switches, hubs, networking wiring/cabling and enterprise computing environment. Also, the Support Technician Trainee must have the ability to identify and define user enterprise network needs. While being able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and verbal/written communication directly with the Team Leader. Responsibilities Connecting and setting up hardware. Installing workstations. Loading all necessary software. Providing network access and connectivity to the staff. Monitoring security. Installing and maintaining passwords and advising staff about any security breach. Ensuring that lock out programs are installed. Troubleshooting all issues in a timely manner. Maintaining IP addresses. Maintaining a list of necessary maintenance and repairs. Researching both current and potential services and resources. Making recommendations about the purchase of resources. Identifying and preparing hardware for safe disposal. Ensuring hardware is secured and stripped before disposal. Great organizational skills. Knowledge base of servers/ virtual servers, printers, and smartphones/tablets. Exceptional communication skills and documenting. Installing new work stations. Troubleshooting existing computers. Preferred Experience and Skills An associate's degree in the field of technology or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or two years of experience in an information technology position. Able to resolve most desktop issues on windows machines.
