Job Description:
3M is seeking a PE Engineer for the Plant Engineering Department located in Columbia, MO. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of PE Engineer will apply knowledge and experience to develop and refine new and existing processes and equipment. They will complete these tasks for optimal safety, quality, and efficiency through disruptive technology implementation (robotics, PLC programming, vision, automation, and SCADA).
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
+ Identify, design, implement, and lead various technical projects associated with facility and manufacturing equipment across all site businesses.
+ Develop extensive high level troubleshooting capabilities to provide tactical support for day-to-day manufacturing operations.
+ Respond to daily business needs (safety, quality, service, cost) and all project activities with critical thinking while employing Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.
+ Identify, lead and collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve and improve equipment downtime and efficiency issues.
+ Willingness to be on-call
Basic Qualifications:
+ Two-year technical or Associate s degree or higher from an accredited institution
+ Minimum three (3) years of project work focused using robotics, PLC programming, vision, automation, and SCADA experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor s degree or higher from an accredited institution in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
+ Minimum five (5) years of project work focused using robotics, PLC programming, vision, automation, and SCADA experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills
+ Hands on approach with demonstrated pneumatic, instrumentation, and controls aptitude
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and organizational skills to manage different priorities
+ Self-directed mindset that leads with high energy and works with minimal supervision or guidance
+ Training and experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology
+ Ability to prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible to changes; responds with a sense of urgency
Location: Columbia, MO
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation: Is authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
